Helpful Details

Common questions, answered clearly.

Open any question below for a simple answer. If your situation is unique, Pretty in Ink can talk through the details before anything is scheduled.

What ID is accepted?

Most current government-issued photo IDs are commonly used, including a U.S. driver’s license, passport, military ID, or state ID. Please ask ahead of time if you are unsure whether your ID will work for your appointment.

Do you travel?

Yes. Pretty in Ink travels throughout the Southeast, with appointments scheduled based on location, availability, timing, and service needs.

Do you speak any additional languages?

I do not, but sometimes I can provide a translator or we can use a translation application. My goal is to assist everyone.

Do you notarize hospital documents?

Absolutely. Hospital and care facility appointments are available when the signer is alert, willing, properly identified, and able to participate in the notarization.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment may be made by Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, business check, or cash.

Can you provide witnesses?

Yes, witnesses may be arranged with advance notice. Please mention witness needs when requesting your appointment so availability and any additional details can be confirmed.

Can documents already be signed?

Only if the document specifically allows prior signatures. To protect the integrity of the notarization, most documents should not be signed until the notary is present.

How far in advance should ceremonies be booked?

We recommend booking ceremonies at least six months in advance whenever possible, especially for weddings, meaningful milestone gatherings, and dates with limited availability.

Do all signers need to be present?

Yes. All required signers must be physically present at the appointment and must have acceptable identification ready.

How much does a mobile notary appointment cost?

Appointment pricing is based on factors such as travel location, number of documents, notarizations required, scheduling needs, and any additional services requested. Clear pricing details are always provided before your appointment is confirmed so the process feels straightforward and stress-free.

How quickly can I schedule an appointment?

Same-day and next-day appointments may be available depending on scheduling, location, document needs, and travel time.

What if someone cannot sign traditionally?

Some individuals may still be able to complete a notarization if they are unable to sign in a traditional manner due to a physical limitation. Requirements can vary depending on the situation and the type of document involved. Please share any concerns before the appointment so arrangements and eligibility can be discussed ahead of time.

What documents cannot be notarized?

Documents cannot be notarized if required signers are not present, valid identification cannot be provided, the signer does not appear aware or willing to sign, or the document is incomplete in a way that could affect the notarization. Certain documents may also require additional witnesses or specific instructions from the issuing agency before they can be completed properly.

Do you offer rush or same-day service?

Rush service may be available depending on location, timing, and document type. Contact is recommended as early as possible for urgent requests.

Will the person know who hired you?

No unnecessary personal information is shared during service. The focus remains on professionally delivering the documents.

What happens if the person avoids service?

Some individuals actively avoid being served. In those situations, documentation of attempts may still help support further legal options through the court. Additional strategies may also be available depending on the circumstances.

I've never hired a process server before. What should I expect?

Most clients haven't. The process is explained clearly from the beginning, with updates provided along the way so you're not left wondering what's happening next.

What if I'm not sure which documents need to be served?

That's okay. You can send over what you have, and guidance can be provided on the next steps or whether additional paperwork may be needed.

Do you work with attorneys only?

No. Services are available for attorneys, businesses, and individuals representing themselves.
